Parent Right to Know Information

Teacher and Paraprofessional Qualifications

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015 provides parents and guardians with the right to request information regarding the professional qualifications of their child’s classroom teachers and instructional support staff.

Upon request, parents/guardians may receive information regarding:

  • Whether their child’s teacher has met Nebraska state certification and licensing requirements for the grade level and subject areas in which they provide instruction.
  • Whether the teacher is currently teaching under an emergency or provisional certificate.
  • The teacher’s educational background, including graduate certifications, degrees earned, and the field(s) of study.
  • Whether their child receives instruction or support services from a paraprofessional and the qualifications of that paraprofessional.

Parents and guardians may also request information from the superintendent regarding any state or district policies related to student participation in assessments administered by Loup County Public Schools.

Nebraska Education Profile (NEP)

The Nebraska Education Profile (NEP) provides families, community members, and education leaders with information about school and district performance across the state.

The NEP is designed to make educational data more accessible and help inform decision-making by providing information about student achievement, school performance, and other important measures. The system continues to expand as additional data becomes available.

Families and community members are encouraged to review the information provided through the NEP. Local school staff are available to help explain data specific to Loup County Public Schools and answer questions regarding school performance and educational programs.
